No, I would not recommend this for people getting married for the following reasons:

Nobody will understand why you did it
It's a total pain to spell over the phone
People won't know how to pronounce it
It might not fit on paper forms or a credit card or your driver's license
Some websites and electronic systems don't allow non-alphabetic characters like the hyphen
People ask you about it all the time
